Glascott Landscape & Civil worked closely with ADCO Constructions to transform the existing Rosenthal Car Park, located in the centre of the Lane Cove shopping precinct, into a new 4-level car park with underground parking and rooftop retail precinct and public open space.

The rooftop works included an amphitheatre, playground and picnic areas with BBQ facilities, street furniture, pathways and amenities, with extensive landscaping, including a ‘green wall’ vertical garden and footbridge to provide pedestrian connectivity.

Careful attention was given to sculpting the finished levels to maximise seating opportunities in front of the amphitheatre stage.

Working on a rooftop brought unique challenges in site access constraints and weight-bearing, which needed to be managed effectively for structure safety. 

The Canopy has now the heart and soul of Lane Cove village.
