Fernleigh Awabakal Shared Track (FAST) Project Opens

The Fernleigh Awabakal Shared Track (FAST) project embodies our team’s commitment to turning visions into stunning realities.

Funded by the Australian Government, NSW Government and Lake Macquarie City Council, the FAST provides a 27km continuous active transport route from Murrays Beach to Adamstown. The track passes through significant Aboriginal heritage areas and offers stunning coastal views, supporting recreation and local tourism.

Glascott Landscape and Civil worked with Lake Macquarie City Council to complete the final 1.5km stretch, refining the design and ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding wetlands.

The project involved the installation of a unique teardrop bridge and boardwalks, creating a route for walking, running, and cycling, with a focus on preserving the environment and protecting sensitive ecosystems.

The result is a stunning shared track where locals and visitors can connect with nature while enjoying the convenience of sustainable infrastructure.

We are undertaking a 12-month warranty maintenance programme through our ssister business Marsupial Landscape Management, nurturing the new landscapes and carrying out a comprehensive Vegetation Management Plan to ensure the ongoing vitality of the new asset.
